Crystal Cattabriga

I was born on April Fool's Day, I'm a lefty, which is supposed to be a good thing I've been told. I was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Georgia in 2004. I'm the mother of three beautiful children. I've been married for 10 years to a wonderful man who always seems to keep me grounded. I write Fiction/Ya/Fantasy novels. I am the author of Shattered Into Pieces, Saving Bobby, and God Blessed the Broken Road Series - Book One & Two. I am currently working on three other books set to release at the end of the 2012. They are Torn Souls, The anticipating Y/A Christian sequel to Saving Bobby called In His Honor, and the final Book in the God Blessed the Broken Road Series    When I'm not writing novels, I enjoy reading, going to the movies with my children, walking through trails, and bowling. We have three dogs and several cats. Living my life as it is, I feel blessed, so I always remember to pay it forward to others. I've been a Partner's in Hope member of St. Jude's Hospital since 2006 and give to my local community, The Sharing and Caring Place in GA. Check out my website for more info! You can find her on my website at crystalcattabriga.com or on my Author's page on Facebook.

Saving Bobby by Crystal Cattabriga

In the first chapter is tells you about Bobby's family dynamics, which sadly is made up of his mom, him, and his uncle that is MIA.His daddy ran out on them and other family members have passed away.Bobby's mom is a single mom doing her best to raise a teenage boy with love and discipline.Bobby does his best to be a good boy.He doesn't really have any friend but puts all his time and energy into excelling in school.Reading this first chapter I could relate because I am single mom of a teen girl and a boy who is year younger than Bobby.I found myself reading the first chapter from a single mom's point of view but also from a boy with no father point of view.I was instantly thrown into the story and captivated by this.
Bad as things may seem, they are about to get worse.Bobby's mother is sick and he thinks he can find a way to help her because he is afraid the doctor that is treating many not find a way to help her in time because her condition is rapidly deteriorating. So off Bobby goes on this journey. He meets a run away teen named Annie that decides to help him on his journey.
Bobby keeps meeting people who say they will pray for his mom.Not growing up in church, this perplexes him. Occasionally Bobby will say a quick prayer to God to heal his mom but he isn't sure he believes in God.He doesn't understand why God would let his mom get sick. But every time he steps into a chapel, church, hears someone talk about God, or say they will pray his mother something pricks at Bobby;s heart.
Author Crystal Cattabriga has captured me with another heartfelt story, Saving Bobby captured my attention from the beginning.I immediately threw myself into the story.I could not put it down,I so wanted to know if Bobby finds a way to help his mom,if he finds a way to open his heart to God,and who is this Annie girl who knows so much about God yet is a runaway teen?

God Blessed the Broken Road Book One- Mariza (God Blessed the Broken Road Series) (Kindle Edition)

I read God Bless The Broken Road in on evening.I started and was so intrigued by the story that I couldn't stop reading it! I don't usually read stories like this very often.I am glad I did.It showed me that you can find your way back to God and find your faith after losing it,no matter what you have done.God has a purpose and the pain you may go through is for a reason,it may one day help someone else get through a painful situation and you might be the only one who can reach them because you been where they are at now.Love, love, loved this book, great inspiration, can't wait for the sequel!
God Bless The Broken Road is a story about a brother and sister who are very close to each other despite being about 6 years apart in age. They learned heartache at a young age, when their parents divorced.Occasionally the children were taken to church but nothing consistent.David found God in hos early youth and had great faith, while his sister Mariza, didn't believe in God and lived life carefree and wild.As they got older something happened to David that set him on a path away from God.Being concerned about David,Mariza takes him on a trip to Colorado to try to get him out of his depression. Now she is the one speaking faith into David's life while he doubts God.On the road trip they are stopped by state troopers because the highway is shut down. Tragedy strikes the lives of theses siblings and David goes into a downward spiral of self destruction. Can he recover and get on with life despite this tragedy? Can he find God and his faith again?

Guardian (The guardian) [Kindle Edition] Gillian Joy (Author)

First of all I have to say I LOVED Guardian! I read almost half the book the first night. It is action packed with love stories, friendships, fight scenes, and obstacles to over come. The author Gillian Joy,did a good job at defining the characters and making them seem real.I felt like I was Hannah as I read the book.I could feel what she felt and see what she saw.
Hannah is the Guardian of ALL supernatural beings which includes vampires, witches, werewolves, nephilim, mermaids, and fairies. It is her heritage to become the next guardian. Her job is to make sure all supernatural beings do not kill or harm each other or humans without probable cause. She takes her job seriously and will not stand to be disobeyed.Yes,she is strong willed, independent, and determined. At the same time, she is caring, vulnerable, and a trustworthy friend. She befriends a Bernard,a warlock, who is like a father figure to her and an old friend of her mother's,a few vampires(which two she may have feeling for but refuses to let herself let involved with a supernatural being),and a young witch.Together the embark on a journey to set all the supernatural beings straight and once again bring peace and lawfulness just as there was when her grandmother was Guardian. Will this be accomplished?

Forever (Guardian) (Kindle Edition) by Gillian Joy

Gillian Joy has done it again with Book 2 of Guardian Series!I could not put it down,I read myself to sleep two nights in a row because I so engulfed in the story and couldn't get enough. She does a great job at keeping you guessing what is going to happen next, and believe me it is never what you think it will be.I so can't wait for Book 3,Revenge to come out!
In Forever, Hannah keeps having nightmares about drowning and during the day the mermaids won't stop begging her to swim with them. They can't tell her why they need her but insist it is urgent.Well Hannah is in no way going swim with them after all the nightmares about drowning. On top of that the faeries are bugging her to intervene in a matter. And everyone keeps insisting she just give into her emotions and let Gabriel in her heart once and for all and stop pushing him away. Her mom is sick and is slowly dying. Plus she is trying to keep her two kids from being discovered by the supernatural beings and vice versa. All this is keeping Hannah sleep deprived. Is her judgement being affected by her lack of sleep? Can she solve all these problems? Will she let her friends help and be able to keep everyone safe? The ending will surprise you!

Believe (New England Immortals #1) by E. Leighanne Grimm-Weever

I really enjoyed this book. The author throws unexpected things into the plot at just the point you think there is nothing new that can be thrown in.The only problem with the book, which really isn't a problem, just me wanting more,is that it leaves you with a cliffhanger, which most good books do.I waited for half the book for that cliffhanger to be revealed and when it was you are left not knowing the main character's response to it.So,I guess I will have to wait for book two.
The book is about a girl name Andrea, who was raised by her Uncle Greg because her mom died and no one knows who her father is or what happened to him.Uncle Greg is alittle over the top with his vampire tales.Andrea grows up believing her uncle is a little crazy but when she moves to a new town to attend college, things that he uncle told her seem to have some truth or maybe she is just imagining things. She falls in love with a gorgeous, sweet guy.But could he be a vampire? And if the tales about vampires are true could the tales about vampire hunters be true too?How will this affect her and Shane's relationship, especially when Uncle Greg decides to come to Christmas dinner?

Featured Author~ Lily Crussell

Lily Crussell is a (currently) unpublished author of young adult paranormal romance and fantasy novels. Hailing from Buckinghamshire in England, she lives in a market town. When she isn't writing, she works full time in retail, something she is desperate to give up.Writing since her early teens, Lily doesn't see writing as a career choice, more an obsession that won't let her rest until her muses are sated. She has been known to lock herself in toilet cubicles at work, scribbling madly on scraps of paper to ensure ideas aren't lost whilst serving customers. Lily previously considered careers in Anthropology and Teaching, but found neither suited her, especially as they would mean less time to devote to write.
Not only a novelist, Lily spends her time writing Haiku and Sonnets, none of which she's had the bravery to submit anywhere as of yet.
When not writing, Lily usually has her nose in a book on subjects ranging from Geiko to Veganism, a subject she is devoted to entirely. She has a terrible sense of humour, enjoying tacky comedies, bad horrors and awful tv. She enjoys cute fluffy animals and is hoping to train guide dog puppies if she ever gets out of retail.
Her dream is to write all day, living in a dream world of her characters and only coming out of it to train the guide dog puppies and cook vegan masterpieces (the last part is unlikely though!). As a Vegan, she is active in animal welfare issues and believes all creatures deserve respect, regardless of whether they have two legs, four, wings or gills.

Lily Crussell has her awesome book Of Darkness & Light  free for this weekend for Kindle users and Amazon prime members and $1.50 for non-prime members. WHAT A GREAT DEAL!     Remember to go and get your copy.

Authors I Like

Biography

From her earliest childhood, there was nothing Tracy loved better than stepping into another world between the pages of a book. From dragons and knights, to the wonders of Narnia, that passion has never abated, and to Tracy, opening any novel is like stepping again through the wardrobe, into the thrilling unknown. With every book she writes, she wants to open a door like that, and invite readers to be transported with her into a place that captivates.
Tracy started her first novel at the age of eight and has been hooked on writing ever since. After attending Philadelphia Biblical University, she earned a B.A. in English Literature at Rowan University. She then spent ten years writing drama presentations for church ministry.
A lifelong interest in history and mythology has led Tracy to extensive research into ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome, and shaped her desire to shine the light of the gospel into the cultures of the past.
She has traveled through Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Italy to research her novels, and looks forward to more travel as her writing continues. Click on the link Tracy’s Travels, to explore some of the fascinating locations of her books.
Tracy is thrilled to bring readers adventures set in the ancient past, and it’s her hope that in escaping with her, readers will feel they’ve walked through these deserts, explored ruins, felt the white sand and blue sea under their feet, and met with the Redeeming God who is sovereign over the entire drama of human history.

Her recent release:

The Untold Story of King Nebuchadnezzar’s Daughter…
For seven years the Babylonian princess Tiamat has waited for the mad king Nebuchadnezzar to return to his family and to his kingdom. Driven from his throne to live as a beast, he prowls his luxurious Hanging Gardens, secreted away from the world.Since her treaty marriage at a young age, Tia has lived an indulgent palace life. But when her husband dies and a nobleman is found murdered in the palace, Tia must discover who is responsible for the macabre death, even if her own newfound freedom is threatened. As the queen plans to wed Tia to yet another prince, the powerful mage Shadir plots to expose the family’s secret and set his own man on the throne. Tia enlists the help of a reluctant Jewish captive, her late husband’s brother Pedaiah, who challenges her notions of the gods even as he opens her heart to both truth and love.In a time when few gave their hearts to Yahweh, one woman must decide if she is willing to risk everything—her possessions, her gods, and her very life—for the Israelite’s one God. Madness, sorcery and sinister plots mingle like an alchemist’s deadly potion, and Tia must dare to risk all – to save the kingdom, and to save herself.
