Excerpt: Elijah reached around me to clean off the washcloth he had used; it had been white and now was stained pink. I tried not to look at it, knowing that it would only make me feel sick to my stomach. His fingers touched my neck as he pulled my hair away. It was barely a graze, but I felt a trail of cold-heat left behind, and it made my breathing change rapidly. Then he started to clean my neck and I was glad that I had taken my shirt off as the water was running down my chest. I felt his chest jerk against my back. His breath had hitched. When I tried to turn my head to look back at him, he just bent his head and focused all his attention on my neck. I turned back around waiting for him to finish when he dropped the washcloth. He moved a little closer. “I would like to wash your hair for you.” His voice was barely a whisper against my skin. My eyes shut lightly and I felt myself nod. I don’t think I was really thinking this through. I knew that I should be disgusted that he, just a half an hour before, talked so lightly of death, so carelessly. But now, here he was gentle, unbelievably so. My heart was pounding in my chest yet again and he told me to sit on the edge. When I leaned back, I felt his strong arm move under my back, supporting me. He worked the water and everything else one-handed. When his hand started to work in my hair, I couldn't stop a couple moans from slipping from my lips. My eyes were shut tightly, too scared to look up at him. When I thought he was looking away to grab the conditioner, I gathered the courage to look at him. He was staring right back at me, as he if couldn’t take his eyes off me, even though he was reaching for something in the opposite direction. My body rushed with a deep flush of heat. His eyes were boring into mine and, though I knew it was black and nothing else, I felt deep down he was looking at me with desire. His hand around my back tightened. Looking up at him, I didn’t realize until now how vulnerable I was to him. I was at his complete and utter disposal. If he chose to kiss me, then there was no stopping him. If he told me he wanted to ravage me, I don’t think I would have the strength to say no. He moved closely, locking a kiss on my lips; it was over before it really began. I licked my lips still tasting him there, and for a horrible moment I wanted so much more. His nails lightly scraped my skull as he continued to run his hands through my long locks. I bit my lip, trying to hold in another moan. My body was relaxing under his touches. “Killing is easy, my little light. It has always been easy.” I looked at Elijah, the lines around his eyes were pushed down, and his mouth slightly frowned.

Cover Reveal: SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE

About SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE:
High school senior Olivia Winging gave up her love of photography when she gave up her boyfriend, Trevor Youngblood, a year and a half ago. She broke things off with Trevor because her mom married his dad, and dating your step-brother? Creepy.

Livvy hasn’t been on good terms with her mother since, and one of her stipulations for staying at the Youngblood’s every other weekend is that Trevor can’t be there. When she gets nominated for the Junior Photography in Excellence award, Trevor insists she enter. She agrees—only if every photo in the portfolio can be of him. Knowing that Livvy can capture a person’s deepest secrets through her lens, Trevor hesitates before accepting the deal.

As Livvy gets behind the lens of her camera again, her love of photography is rekindled. Unfortunately, the time she spends with Trevor also re-ignites the old flame for him she’s kept smothered for so long.

In order for Livvy to finish her portfolio, she’ll have to face her feelings for Trevor as well as deal with the animosity between her and her mother. Livvy’s always been able to capture a person’s soul from behind the camera—but she’s not sure she likes it when the lens is suddenly focused on her. If she can’t find a way to forgive her mother and admit how she feels about Trevor, Livvy may end up losing more than just the photography contest. She could lose her heart.

Praise for Elana’s first verse novel, Elevated:
“The taut poetry keeps tension high. The plot is deftly paced, as past intrudes on present, like a photograph emerging in developing fluid.” ~San Francisco Book Review

“Every word Johnson writes carries an emotional heft that lifts readers up to the highest happiness and then sends them crashing down to the depths of despair. It is easy to flow from the first word to the last without ever putting down the book. Johnson shows outstanding talent in this form, and her words are beautiful, important and deeply felt.” ~The Deseret News

Excerpt:
Sometimes the things that go bump in the night are real.
Happy birthday to me. I close my eyes and burrow into my pillow as I try to sleep, as I try to escape this life. It’s a life I never thought I’d have, a life I most certainly don’t want. I’m still feeling sorry for myself as the blackness of sleep finally overtakes me. I don’t know what time it is when I shoot straight upward like a rocket. Something had yanked me from the oblivion of sleep, something loud and shrill scraping my window. My room is completely dark and I glanceat my clock in confusion. 3:00 a.m. As my heart pounds hard against my ribcage, I quickly scan every corner of the room. In the last few hours, dark shadows had migrated onto my pink walls, but they’re familiar, nothing out of the ordinary, although in the night, they seem twisted and scary. I remain motionless as I allow the sleep-induced fog to clear from my brain. As I sit, I feel common sense and logic slowly returning. Of course nothing had touched my window because my bedroom is on the second floor. Nothing can reach it. And there are no trees near enough to brush against it. It was just a dream. It was only a dream. I chant it silently to myself like a mantra as I consciously slow my breathing down, hoping that my racing pulse will soon follow. It was only a dream. But just as I’m calming down, I hear it again. A high-pitched shrill shriek, reminiscent of fingernails on a chalkboard, scraping down my window. I gasp and pull my feet up to my chest, which is when I notice the temperature. I notice because I can see my breath. Timidly, I blow a puff out again, watching the way my breath turns white in the air. Holy crap. Oh my God. What the hell? The sound stops and stillness surrounds me once again, the silence so loud that it echoes in my ear. Nothing moves around me, the shadows are perfectly still as they twist across my wall. They look like mangled fingers and arms and legs, but they don’t move. My legs are weak and shaking, but I know I have to move. I have to move off my bed because it feels like something is under it. Something terrifying. With a leap, I bound across the room, my feet hitting the floor several feet away from the edge of my bed. The floor is ice cold, as though it had been covered in a blanket of snow. I’m trembling as I race to the far wall and check the thermostat. Because that’s the only explanation. I must’ve bumped it earlier, I must’ve turned the AC way down. But the luminous numbers stare at me in contradiction. 74 degrees. It must be broken. It has to be broken. My breath is coming in pants now, terrified, anxious pants. My fear isn’t logical. I know there’s nothing here. I’m the only one in this room. Or am I? The air seems to push at me from all around, something dark, something heavy, something real. Something unseen. My fingers shake, my legs tremble, and then all of a sudden, they can no longer support my weight. I go down like a pile of bricks, collapsing onto the floor. I lie still because I can’t move, because something seems to sit on my chest, holding me down. The shadows start to move, to slither across the walls, to reach and pull and dance. I struggle to focus, to see what it is. But all I can see are the numbers on the thermostat suddenly moving, rapidly counting down from 74 to 20. Twenty degrees? The air is frigid as I suck it in, as I try to pull the ice crystals into my mouth so I can breathe. All of a sudden, there’s a blackness in front of me. It hovers over me, a shapeless mass, sucking in the cells of the air, the atoms and the molecules. It’s darker than the blackness of my room, blacker than the blackest black. Something is here. With me. “Dad?” I whisper in a white puff. Because what else could it be? I reach out a finger to touch it, and then I can’t see anything else, because the darkness of it surrounds me, bleeding into everything else, even my vision. The shriek is back, screaming into my ears, bleeding into my brain. Then there’s nothing.

Blood Beyond Darkness Release Day Blitz

It's HERE! The day has finally arrived!

The final book in the Darkness Series has arrived!!

After months of searching, Ember and her friends have finally located the Sword of Light, the only weapon capable of destroying Queen Aneira and ending her rule. This is Ember’s destiny. Or so she thought. Now a pact to save the man she loves changes everything.

In this final installment in the Darkness Series, when the truth comes to light, Ember will learn some things are better left in the dark as her world is ripped even further apart. It is no longer a rabbit hole, but a never-ending black void full of endless lies, betrayals, and secrets.

The fight for Earth has begun, and Ember will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save millions of innocent lives and those she loves.

But this price may be too high—even for her.

Stacey Marie Brown by day is an Interior/Set Designer, by night a writer of Paranormal Fantasy, Adventure, and Literary Fiction. She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family’s farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. Even before she could write, she was creating stories and making up intricate fantasies. Writing came as easy as breathing. She later turned that passion into acting, living and traveling abroad, and designing. Though she had never stopped writing, moving back to San Francisco seemed to have brought it back to the forefront and this time it would not be ignored.

When she’s not writing she’s out hiking, spending time with friends, traveling, listening to music, or designing.

**Warning: The Darkness Series is not YA, but a NA Series**

Darkness of Light (Darkness #1)

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for troubled teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

Fire in the Darkness (Darkness #2)

It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.
And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Beast In The Darkness (An Elighan Dragen Novelette)

(Darkness #2.5)

We know the story from Ember's POV, but what happens to Eli after Ember disappears? Crawl inside Eli's mind and experience what he goes through. Be warned his mind in not a fuzzy warm place to be....

Dwellers of Darkness (Darkness #3)

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. Em would be 22 now—if she were human. She’s not. She is a Dae—part Demon and part Fay—with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her more of a freak.

Life has become further complicated for Ember since returning from the Otherworld. Besides being continuously hunted by the Seelie Queen, Ember is at the top of the Unseelie King’s list, after breaking her oath with him. No one breaks a vow with the Unseelie King without extreme consequences.

Adding to Ember’s problems is a certain Dark Dweller whose mood has become violent and cruel. As much as she’d like to deny it, there is an undeniable connection between them. Eli is sexy, gorgeous, and frustrating as hell. She also knows he is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever.

But her problems go way past him. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound escalates even more as they prepare to obtain the Sword of Light—the only weapon able to kill the Queen.

But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.

Shimmer (Breathe #2) by Elena Dillon RELEASE DAY BLITZ

Shimmer (Breathe #2) by Elena Dillon

RELEASE DAY BLITZ

YA Romantic Suspense

Book 2 in the Breathe Series:

Chandler Raines and her “dad” are on the run. Never staying in one place for very long. It’s just not safe. When they arrive in Lafayette, Louisiana, Chandler quickly realizes this is the place she wants to call home. Friends, a cute boy, and competitive cheerleading have her taking dangerous risks to have the life she always wanted. Risks she promised she wouldn’t take.
When her lies catch up to her, a decision has to be made. Stay or run? Will the evil that’s chased them for the last four years catch up to them? When Chandler’s past comes screeching into the present she’ll have to sacrifice everything to keep what she loves safe. But will it be enough?

Review:
I adored Jasmine and Easton in Breathe but I absolutely loved Lily,Caedan,Abby,Finn, and Chandler! They crack me up,especially Caedan who is mister wannabe bad boy with a heart hidden underneath that rough exterior. Now it'll just take the right girl to break down his wall and draw out the real Caedan. And that girl might just be Chandler but she isn't going play his games or let his cockiness get under her skin. She's been to way too many schools and seen more drama from watching as an outsider to know just how to handle cocky boys and snobby girls without it fazing her.
Though Chandler knows just how to be a loner and draw the least attention to herself as possible, these Southern girls in Lafayette,Louisiana ain't having any of that. Now as she makes friends she must do all she can not to give away too much about herself or her past or risk putting herself. her dad and her new friends and their families in danger. Yeap once again someone decides Lafayette is the perfect hide out from the danger that is chasing them. Now all Chandler has to do is keep a low profile and pray "he" doesn't find them, and just maybe she'll get lucky this time and be able to love somewhat pf a normal teenage life. But of course life isn't that easy,so as Caedan seeks to figure out what Chandler is hiding and Chandler seeks to keep her past hidden, one seemingly harmless decision may threaten to bring it all crashing down.
I love this series and hope Mrs.Dillon continues the series because I have fallen in love with these characters ans they almost feel like family since we share the same city. However, this was my question to my friend when we were discussing the books "is it weird I'm starting to feel a little creep out with this woman continually bringing killers to where I live even if they are just fictional?" Ok so I'm not that creeped out knowing they are fictional characters but then this happens "So Chandler's dad wants to do background checks on her friend's family and so she tells him 'how dangerous can it be we're living in Lafayette, Louisiana'...haha if she only know how ironic that question was",yeah that was another part of our convo about the book.
I enjoyed Chandler and Caedan's banter and found Caedan quite hilarious at times.I really hope she writes the next book about Lily and Finn because, man they just need to get over themselves and admit they have something there and stop dancing around the subject before all that tension causes some irreparable damage to their friendship. And I so think there is more to the story behind Mr.Rourke's deportation.I'm very curious about him.

~*~About the Author~*~

Elena lives and writes in a suburb North of Los Angeles.  She has never lived anywhere besides California which is probably a good thing since she hates being cold and is terrified to drive in the snow. She loves being a wife and a mother to her three kids and three dogs, although really the bulldog is the fourth child who has never matured beyond the toddler stage.

A self-proclaimed nerd, she has been writing since she was a child. She has only recently, however, come out of the closet about this to her family and friends.  They now understand better, but not completely, why she talks about characters in stories as if they are real people.
