Curse Day: A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

September 23...First day of Fall also known as Rhen's Birthday 🎂 but it's not a happy day for Rhen. Although it is the day he first meets Harper, it the beginning of another "season" and possibly the last.
It's Curse Day💙💔🤴🥀
If Rhen can't convince Harper to love him then he and his kingdom could be lost forever. A Curse So Dark and Lonely has to be my favorite Beauty and the Beast retelling with a surprise ending you won't see coming! Rhen is strong and courageous even though he fights feelings of regret and failure, he is possible the best king for Emberfall but due to an angry enchantress, Prince Rhen has been cursed to find someone to love him or he turns into a ravishing beast that causes much destruction and devastation to the kingdom. Rhen does the best he can to protect his people and his kingdom but unknown forces are coming against them and he must find a way to not only convince Harper to love him but stop a war. One of my favorite quotes "I do not understand how she can fill me with such hope and fear simultaneously. I pull her hand to my chest and lean in to her, until we share breath. My lips brush across hers.
It is barely a kiss, but she is somehow closer to me, her body a pool of warmth against mine.
I want so desperately to turn it into more, to see where this blossoming attraction will lead.” Shows his desperation yet his tenderness towards Harper. I love seeing Harper come into her strength to overcome her disability and her determination to help Rhen save his Kingdom. Both have emotions and pasts they must deal with and overcome if they're going to find love between them. Can she love a monster, can he let her in, will she run away when she finds out the truth or stand by his side, will her love for her family destroy the chance at love with Rhen? This a beautiful heartbreaking tale of heartbreak and love told in a enchanting narrative set in a fairytale kingdom background. I laughed, cried, cheered, and pleaded for the characters. Yes,I fell in love with them and this enchanting world by @brigidkemmerer I can't recommend this book enough and anxiously awaiting for the continuation in book 2 A Heart so Fierce and Broken!
#CURSEBREAKERS

So I'm totally horrible and have to beg the lovely Brigid Kemmerer for not posting review earlier than today. I really meant to but I met her in November at The Origin Event and she kindly gave me a copy of A Curse So Dark and Lonely since I was a blogger and bookstagramer. However, if you follow me enough you may be aware I've had some health issues around that time that didn't get solved for months and one issue is still plaguing me (MRSA UTI) may end me in the hospital if we can't get it to go away for good 😞 I recently jumped back into A Curse So Dark and Lonely after being privy to A Heart So Fierce and Broken first chapter because after reading that I wasn't ready to leave the #CURSEBREAKERS world and quickly realized I never posted a review. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😞 But here on Curse Day, I have rectified that mistake so I hope you enjoyed the review and join us for the journey of bringing A Heart So Fierce and Broken to the world! Keep your eyes open for more information here and on my bookstagram page @purpleshadowhunter
