Can a couple of baristas chase down a car thief without spilling a drop of their favorite drinks?

Plans for a Valentine's Day grand opening of a small town coffee shop go awry when the first customer is killed. Evidence points toward the victim being mixed up in a car theft ring, but shop owners Tandy and Marissa have reason to believe he was framed.

An assortment of suspects--from a pink-haired heir to Tandy's charming ex--all seem to know a little too much about grand theft auto.

Without approval from either their boyfriends or the gum-chewing FBI agent in charge, the shop owners go on stakeouts, plan stings, and pursue justice in a high-speed car chase. If they don't find the killer soon, it might be more than their love lives in trouble.
Review:
This isn't my normal kinda of read but the synopsis was intriguing so I decided to try something new. Boy am I glad I did! It was a thrilling adventurous read! My son recently had me watch a movie where a couple has to solve a crime they are being framed for and the wife is a mystery novel fanatic and uses what's she's read in books to help her solve the crime. This book made me see why people like that enjoy this genre. I may have to add mystery thriller to my favorite list of genres!

Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:
Since discovering she is a shape-shifting dragon, Bryn McKenna has seen her world thrown into chaos. Being a "crossbreed" - part Red dragon and part Blue - means Bryn will never fit in. Not with dragon society. Not with the archaic and controlling Directorate. And definitely not when she has striped hair and a not-so-popular affection for rule-breaking...
But sneaking around with her secret boyfriend, Zavien, gets a whole lot harder when he's betrothed to someone else. Someone who isn't a mixed breed and totally forbidden. And for an added complication, it turns out Bryn's former archnemesis Jaxon Westgate isn't quite the evil asshat she thought. Now she's caught between her desire to fit in and a need to set things on fire. Literally.
Because if Bryn can't adapt to the status quo...well, then maybe it's time for her to change it.
The Going Down in Flames series is best enjoyed in order.

What We Do For Love Blog Tour

What We Do For Love
Anne Pfeffer
Publication date: May 21st 2019
Genres: Adult, Contemporary
Thirty-eight year old Nicole Adams has given up on finding love. Instead, the single mother focuses on the things she cherishes most—her sixteen-year old son Justin, her friends, and her art.
When she convinces a prominent Los Angeles museum to feature a piece of her work, a large-scale installation, she thinks her life has finally turned a corner.
Then Justin brings a girl, Daniela, home to live with them. Daniela’s angry parents have thrown her out of the house, because she’s pregnant with Justin’s child. Shattered, Nicole takes Daniela in and, in so doing, is drawn into the inner circle of Daniela’s family—a frightening world of deceit and violence.
Nicole struggles to keep life going as normal. Forced to deal with people she doesn’t trust or like, fearful for the future of both her son and the grandchild they’re expecting, Nicole wonders if she can do what she tells Justin to do: always have faith in yourself and do the right thing.

What We Do for Love won the Chick Lit category of the 2019 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, and finalist for Best Cover Design/Fiction!

Author Bio:
Hi! I grew up in the desert around Phoenix, Arizona, where I had a bay quarter horse named Dolly. If I wasn't riding, I was holed up somewhere reading Laura Ingalls Wilder or the Oz books or, later on, Jane Eyre and The Grapes of Wrath. Horses eventually faded as an interest, but I ended up with a lifelong love of books and reading.
After college and eight years of living in cold places like Chicago and New York, I escaped back to the land of sunshine. I now live in California, one mile from the Pacific Ocean, with my dachshund Taco. I have worked in banking and as a pro bono attorney, doing adoptions and guardianships for abandoned children.
As a writer, I'd always been interested in children's books, since they had meant so much to me as a kid. I've found I especially like writing books about teens and twenty-somethings, an age where you make so many decisions about who you are and how you want to spend your life.
I love hearing from readers, so please write to me any time at my website www.annepfeffer.com.

Top Ten Bucket List
Most people’s bucket lists are either filled with breath-taking and exotic locations around the world that they would like to travel to, or adrenaline-pumping feats they would like to accomplish. My list is a little different. I’m a bit of an uneasy flier, since I’ve had a few white-knuckle experiences aboard airplanes, so long-distance flights aren’t terribly appealing. Although I do love a good road trip, the top ten items on my bucket list would be:
  1. Own a home in a beautiful, relaxing setting that would lend itself to hosting writing retreats, such as a cottage on a lake.
  2. Set up a second-hand bookstore and coffee shop, combining two of my absolute favourite things in the world.
  3. Travel to Ireland. Yes, I do realize that would require a fairly lengthy flight. However, this is one place I really do want to travel to one day. My husband Michael and I have been married twenty-three years, and it is definitely on our radar to celebrate our twenty-fifth anniversary with a trip to the Emerald Island.
  4. Make readers laugh. Although my books are fairly suspenseful and intense, I also love to weave humour throughout. I believe that in order to cope with the stresses and challenges of life we have to be able to laugh, and that we serve a God with a wonderful sense of humour.
  5. Make readers cry. I don’t actually want to upset my readers, but when I do get feedback that my stories made someone laugh and cry, nothing makes me happier as I know I have succeeded in making my characters so real to them that readers care so much about what happens to them. It touches me deeply to hear that people have been moved to that extent by my stories.
  6. Be read. This might sound like a bit of a no-brainer for an author, but it always surprises me that I have such a deep need for people to read my books. I don’t enjoy being in the spotlight and have no desire for fame. On top of that, putting my work out there is an incredibly nerve-wracking thing to do and makes me feel extremely vulnerable. However, I read a quote a few ago that said the writing process is a circle, and that until what is written is read by others, that circle is not complete. That helped me to understand why it is so important to me that others read my stories – it closes the circle for me and makes the process feel complete.
  7. Read to grandbabies. I am a few years away from becoming a grandmother as my kids are just in their mid to late teens, but I am really looking forward to that season of life. I plan to have a huge library of children’s books and to spend a lot of time reading to my grandchildren and hopefully instilling the love of story in them that has been such a huge and defining part of my own life.
  8. Compile the world’s best tickle trunk. Mr. Dress-up was a huge children’s show in Canada when I was growing up. I loved that show and watched it every day. The best part was when Mr. Dress-up would open up what he called his tickle trunk and pull out a costume to wear for whatever play he was putting on with his friends (who were puppets). I have been stocking my closet with costumes for a long time now, and hope to have a huge tickle trunk one day for my grandchildren to play with to inspire their imaginations and creativity.
  9. To have an impact. While fame has never been a huge goal of mine, I would love to know that my work has had an impact on at least one other person. I’ve always said that, as believers, our definition of success has to be different than the world’s. It’s not about recognition, awards, sales, or money, it’s about being obedient to write the stories God gives us to the best of our abilities and to put them out into the world so that God can use them to fulfil the purpose he has for them. If that purpose is for one person or a hundred thousand to read the story and be impacted by it, if it fulfils that purpose, then my career will have been a success.
  10. To daily be in the mainstream of God’s activity. I have a friend whose mother-in-law prays this request every single morning—that she would be in the mainstream of God’s activity for that day. As much as we have become a bit obsessed these days with figuring out God’s will for our lives, I’m pretty convinced that if I just pray that prayer every morning and then, with the help of the Holy Spirit, remain open to his leading and guidance that day, I will find myself in the centre of God’s will for my life, and there is nowhere I would rather be.
