 Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

The reason I chose to sign up for this tour is because it resonated with me as I had a similar birth experience except I was left in the birth canal for an unknown amount of time as the drs waited for the placenta and my kept insisting there was a 2nd baby there...I was a surprise identical twin who had trauma to my unbiblical cord early on in pregnancy that mended just enough for me to get fed after my twin sister was fed first due to our position in the womb(how they figured out our position and she got fed first without knowing there were two of us is beyond me but whatever that's the story my mom tells 🤷‍♀️ I guess they figured out things later after the placenta was examined) so I was malnourished and not breathing or dead at birth(depending on who is telling the story when because it was only in the past few years that my Granny actually said I was dead...a lot of things I didn't know about my birth and the aftereffects didn't come to light until I was in my 40s(I'm 46 now). I was developmentally delayed and blind in my left eye due to a hematoma birthmark under my eyelids that caused my brain to just develop connection with my good eye and ignore the other,it was thought that I had optic nerve damage but again in the last several years with better technology my eye dr says that there's no optic nerve damage but I am having early degenerative eye condition in my blind eye. I didn't have much help besides speech in my first two years of school and always having a seat in front of the classroom because my parents didn't want the stigma of special ed services for me. So I learned to cope on my own and although I ended up getting my college degree later in life, I'm still the only one in my immediate family that has and I did it with a 3.0 GPA and quite a few semesters where I was on the Dean's list for 3.5 or higher GPA. I can't say I did this alone, without God that dream wouldn't have happened as I did it in my late 20s&early 30s as a single mom with two kids with social, emotional and behavioral issues themselves and fighting early stages of chronic illness. However, shortly after I got my 2 teacher certifications, my health started to decline rapidly and I wasn't able to work full time so I subbed until I couldn't work anymore. So I figured this book could give me some inspiration and spiritual help and encouragement. I have to say,the author makes the devotions or chapters simple to read yet get the point across. By a few chapters in I was emotional as it hit a spiritual nerve and I was ready to quit reading for the night(I attempted to read it in one sitting and planned on going back and reflect on certain chapters..which you can read it all at once or as a daily devotion) but the next chapter conveniently was on the very subject I just discovered I was struggling with. So I pressed on. This book is for anyone, disabled or not,it gives you tools for deeping your spiritual walk and facing issues we may not even realize we had. I'm thankful the author has shared her journey, life stories and lessons learned in this book! I recommend anyone to read it! There's many little golden nuggets of wisdom, scriptures to remind us of God's word, love and promises that's I've highlighted for futurereference as well as prayers at the end of each chapter that I've bookmarked. This is definitely a book you can go back to more than once. I also like that I found common interests and dreams with the that I have also.

More from Lucy

Before writing the book, I felt a bit lost and frustrated, not having my voice completely heard. I felt that I had a lot to offer especially in regards to my faith. As a person with a disability, sometimes it’s difficult to be taken seriously, as an equal. Through prayer I began to write and started a blog. With positive feedback from readers, I gained confidence in my writing ability which led to the book.

Book Summary:

Summer at the Cape is the fourth original hardcover from New York Times, USA TODAY, and Publisher's Weekly bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne. With the emotional pull of Debbie Macomber, Barbara Delinsky, and Susan Wiggs, RaeAnne tells the story of the Porter sisters, Cami and Violet, who come together to mourn the death of Violet's twin, Lily. Over the course of the summer, the sisters must make peace with each other and also individually with their free-spirited, outspoken, activist mother who left their father two decades earlier.

As the older sister to identical twins Violet and Lily, Cami Porter had always been the odd sister out. The breach became even stronger when her parents split up—while the twins stayed in Cape Sanctuary with their free-spirited activist mother, Rosemary, fourteen-year-old Cami moved to L.A. with her by-the-book attorney father, Ted. Nearly twenty years later, when Cami gets the tragic news that Lily has drowned saving a child, Cami returns to her childhood home—her mother and Violet need her.
Lily had spent her entire life looking for something to be passionate about, and in leasing a property from neighbor Franklin Rafferty and setting up Coastal Pines Glamping, she was about to see her dream realized. Following her death, the sadness and grief Rosemary, Violet and Cami feel is compounded by Jon Rafferty, son of the neighbor whose land Lily had leased. Jon, who hadn't seen his father in years, is stunned to learn that his father is in the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease, and he worries that the Porter women took advantage of him. But Jon can see that the Porter family is in mourning, and agrees they can keep the land through the summer, and then they'll need to shut the glamping site down.

Then there's Violet—the child Lily saved, Ariana Mendoza, is the daughter of Violet's former high school sweetheart, Alex Mendoza. She could never forgive him way back when for cheating on her, but she is so grateful that his adorable little girl is okay. Alex still has feelings for Violet, but he is overcome with grief and gratitude at the same time for the loss of Lily, who died saving his child.

Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite classics and add the steampuck and Christian genres with a new twist on the original and you get a genius story! The Madness is real, the characters are not without struggles, but there’s hope. Alice sees something worth saving in the man everyone considers a monster. I love the themes stungout in the undertone of the story, the steampuck airships and clothing, the way the same old character are betrayed in a whole new way and the amazing plot of adventure, found family, finding the good in people and fighting evil. This is definitely a book you need to grab and read!

More from Tabitha

Madness in Wonderland is a story of found family, good versus evil, rambunctious heroines and strong heroes who are not afraid to leap across airships for their people.

Trust me when I say I’ve tested their loyalty.

I put the Wonder’s crew through so much I started feeling sorry for them. Then I had another airship shoot at them with their cannons. That’s when I knew this story was not only a source of entertainment for me, but it was also challenging me. Madness forced me to become a better writer. Each page demanded my full attention if I wanted to have any hope of catching the true vibes of the story and bringing them to the page.

When I first started writing Madness, I had a rough idea of what I wanted. Evil Queen. Check. Alice as a tough but loving heroine. Check. Frankenstein’s monster. Check. (What’s Wonderland without a little havoc?)

Then the characters took over the story.

Frankenstein’s monster didn’t want to be a monster.

Hatter wanted to be more than a mad side character.

Alice wanted everyone to get along without losing another crew member.

Meeting their demands was a challenge and the story shifted from a whimsical fairy tale to something more. It dove deeper than I planned and showed me that I can do hard things too.

Review:Blessed With a Curse

From the moment of my birth, I became Zeus's number one Most Wanted.

I'm so screwed.

I'm not a bad person. In fact, I'm training to be a nurse so I can help and heal people. Not that Zeus would care about any of that if he even knew. No, all he cares about is his law- no humans are allowed to use magic. The punishment for breaking this is death- a fate I've been able to avoid by living my life in meticulous secrecy.

Until the night my magic activates on its own, releasing a gorgeous demigod from the town's statue.

I have no choice but to run, taking Nikandros with me. After days filled with terror of being caught and killed, Nik convinces me to fight for my freedom. My magic may be strong, but going up against Zeus himself? Impossible. Run or fight, it doesn't seem to matter anymore.

Thanks to this magic I've been cursed with, I will soon meet my end.

If you like touching on Greek Mythology in books like Percy Jackson, observing a young woman forced by circumstance to embrace the heroine within like Katniss in the Hunter Games, and exploring some light, clean romance with your fast-paced Young Adult Fantasy books, then you'll devour Katie Cherry's imaginative new series.

Buy Blessed With A Curse to start this breathtaking adventure today

Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
After Paige lost her mom all she wanted was to live a normal life but she is hiding a secret from her friends and as much as she wishes she could tell someone, she can't without putting her life in mortal danger. They live in world where magic is outlawed by the gods and being a magic user is a death sentence. So when her friends decide to test the long local myth about the statue in middle of town she can't refuse except for touching him, that she tries to cleverly trick her friends into thinking she did for their celebratory picture but she doesn't count on tripping and accidentally grabbing hold of the statue. Now she plans on just walking away and pretending nothing happened, until it does. Now Nik is a demigod freed from his stone cage ages after being cursed and believes Paige is his true mate. Now they must try to out run Zesus and his followers who hunt magic users while working on getting Nik up to date on the times, navigating emotions and find a way between Nik's demigod powers and Paige's magic to defeat Zesus and his cohorts. The characters are relatable and likable. This was a fun story to read and I definitely recommend it! I had a hard time putting this book down to get some sleep after becoming wrapped up in the main characters plight!

Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

Heather Frost has once again weaved a story in this continuing series with romance, action, intrigue and twisted and turns that will keep you glued to the story til the last page!

Excerpt from Royal Captive –

“Exciting times at your palace lately,” Zadir drawled.

The pirate reclined in his seat, looking perfectly at ease talking with the future serjan of Mortise. The man was in his middle years, his beard thick and black. He was built a little stocky, and a grin twisted in his beard more often than not. For a criminal, he was quite decent. He had a moral code, such as it was, and Desfan was perfectly content to work with the infamous pirate.

He could always arrest him later.

Desfan pulled out a chair across from the pirate captain and sat, Karim following suit beside him. “My life is generally more exciting than I’d like,” he said.

“And yet you claim to bore easily.”

“True.”

“An enigma is our serjah.”

The men chuckled, and Desfan ordered two drinks. As the serving maid walked away, he pulled out a heavy purse and dropped it onto the table. “For your services to the crown.”

“Not a phrase I’ve heard before.” Zadir lifted the purse and tossed it to the man beside him. “Count it, Whistler.”

Desfan quirked a brow. “You don’t trust me?”

“I don’t trust anyone. It’s how I’m still alive.” Zadir folded his arms across his broad chest. “I admit, I was sorry to hear my findings reached you too late.”

“Jamal was stopped. That’s what matters.”

“Him and half your council, it sounds like.”

“Various crimes.” Desfan shrugged. “Politics.”

“Nasty business.”

“And pirating isn’t?” Karim asked.

Zadir smiled. “At least pirating is fun.”

The Last Gasp Audiobook

About the Book

Book: The Last Gasp

Author: Chautona Havig

Narrator: Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Christian Historical Mystery, Fairytale

Release date: December, 2021

At the pinnacle of his Hollywood career, Garrison Prince’s reign ends tonight.

As plain old Gary Prinz, he can pursue his Bible education, buy a bungalow in Pasadena, acquire a few chickens, and marry the girl of his dreams. He just never imagined trading the silver screen for a pulpit would wreak such havoc.

A cigarillo girl, Lucinda Ashton spends her days with her boyfriend, Gary, and her evenings selling candy and “gaspers” to the Hollywood elite at the Taj Mahal Theater.

However, when gunshots ring out just as intermission begins, Lucinda finds herself smack-dab in the middle of a brouhaha that leaves three dead, and no one has a clue why.

All the police know is that the evidence points to Lucinda as the killer and Gary as the intended target.

Four new friends, one young orphan, and a potluck of clues that don’t seem to fit anywhere leave the police baffled, Lucinda in fear for her freedom, and Gary ready to trade in his acting shoes for gumshoes if it’ll save his “Cinda.”

The first book in the Ever After Mysteries combining beloved fairy tales and mysteries, The Last Gasp. This Cinderella retelling blends a murder with enough crime and story clues to keep you on the edge of your seat.

 Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

I wasn't sure what to expect from such a mixture of genres but it very well written and the story is intriguing from the beginning. The suspense, romance, and mystery keeps you enthralled to the very end. I had a bit of trouble with the narration moving between different characters at the beginning but by the second chapter it flowed flawlessly. I look forward to more of this series from the author and the narrator.

Book Description:

This is what they deserve. They wanted me to be a monster. I will be the worst monster they ever created.

Fifteen-year-old Sloane can incinerate an enemy at will—she is a Scion, a descendant of the ancient Orisha gods.

Under the Lucis’ brutal rule, her identity means her death if her powers are discovered. But when she is forcibly conscripted into the Lucis army on her fifteenth birthday, Sloane sees a new opportunity: to overcome the bloody challenges of Lucis training, and destroy them from within.

Sloane rises through the ranks and gains strength but, in doing so, risks something greater: losing herself entirely, and becoming the very monster that she ahbors.

Following one girl’s journey of magic, injustice, power, and revenge, this deeply felt and emotionally charged debut from Deborah Falaye, inspired by Yoruba-Nigerian mythology, is a magnetic combination of A Song of Wraiths and Ruin and Daughter of Smoke and Bone that will utterly thrill and capture readers.

Please note: Blood Scion includes the following trigger warnings: blood, colonization, genocide, mentions of rape, racism, sexual abuse, torture, and violence.

 Review:🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

While this book contains real heavy subjects, the author uses her knowledge of her Yoruba culture and mythology to intertwine a fantasy world with magic, gods and their bloodlines, people fighting against tyranny and for freedom, an empire hellbent on genocide of those special bloodlines and give no care about the people they have under their rule as long as they stay in power and who better to do your dirty work than the very people you oppress. This story could easily be set in the historic centuries where empires gave no care about the people whose land they conquered for their own gain in the name of exploration or our time where multiple militia and trynnacial governments have taken over and conscripted child to fight there wars,if you're a person not just living in their own six feet world and have payed attention to multiple countries that have kidnapped or forced children to fight their wars than you'll understand where the author is coming from as she tells this story, or being that the world map has changed much and not many empires left as we're told through the characters this could be a a look into the future or you can look at as just a fantastical world made up by the author as it is written and even though there's some disturbing subjects addressed within in this made up world, I say take a breath and keep reading and when you're finished decide if you want to leave these subjects in the book as you close it or if you want to go down the rabbit hole to see these are real issues happening in remote parts of our world and find a way to help through non-profit organizations, prayer or just sharing this book with someone else. I believe the author poored her heart and soul into this book as a way of bringing forth truths from her culture and mythology and to bring hope to those going through their own struggles as our characters fight to find hope admist their struggles. Sloane has lived her whole life concealing her true identity and magic, her àse otherwise she will be branded a Scion and marked for death.Sloane must come to terms with her magic as she embarks on a mission to prove what happened to her mother as she is drafted into the children army and brought to the capital for training. But she must survive, not be discovered of her true identity or her plans for revenge, while working her way up in the ranks.Sooner or later something must give,Sloane must decide who she truly is and wants to be. I knew the warnings going into this book and I also knew they were real issues so despite my past traumas,I decided to give this book a chance because I believed the author had something important to share through this fantasy novel. I only wish a map of the world mentioned in the story and pronunciation of culture worlds used would have been included in the book but it in no way takes away from the story and the author does well to incorporate meaning of these words explaned by the characters without taking away from the story. The story flows well and I was captivated from the first page and engrossed into their world until the very end.

Favorite Quotes:

"I am Yoruba but I am not. This is Nagea, but it is not. My world is only half of what it should be, and I am only half of what I really am."

"But I was wrong, so wrong. Because there is nothing monstrous about this magic at all, nothing vile and corrupt like what the Lucis wanted me to believe. And to think I spent so long denying myself a sound as achingly pure and free as this."

This book has great world building, amazing characters, and magic system. Fae-check, strong heroine-check, slow-burn romance-check...everything you need for a great debut to a new series! Now the steamy encounters were a little much for me and I honestly think the story could have been just as great without it but if smut is your thing, there's some in there for you. Definitely recommend this for anyone 18+ as the plot is intriguing and I'm curious to see where the next book takes us!
